Legerdemain
Arc Space, Nottingham
WEDNESDAYS
8PM (Doors 6.45PM)
The word 'legerdemain' is derived from a 15th Century French phrase ‘leger de main’ which literally translates as 'light of hand'. It became a replacement for the expression 'sleight of hand' and was used to describe feats of skill, dexterity, or an ability to hide the truth.
Inspired by the parlour entertainments of the 19th century, Legerdemain is a rare and intimate evening of sleight of hand, visual illusion, and theatrical storytelling, performed for a gathering of just 40 guests.
Set within Western House, an historic lace factory in Nottingham, miracles unfold inches from your eyes; cards transform, objects vanish, stories twist, and time itself seems to pause. At the heart of the experience lies not just deception, but wonder: a celebration of impossibility woven with wit, charm, and old-world grace.
Join Chris Wilder for this hour-long performance, with the show starting at 8PM, but doors open for drinks at the bar from 6.45PM. The bar will be open again after the show for you to grab another drink and discuss the events of the evening.
